My Metal Heart

My Metal Heart

My heart aches for what once was

though I wouldn’t change a thing about today

the longing is still there, a remnant of days gone by

and I can’t help but wonder…

There was a time of freedom and not much responsibility

when all that mattered was the music

we lived and breathed the music ~ it was a lifestyle

There was the excitement of youth

when each day was brand new and anything could happen

The spontaneity and hope; starry eyes and puppy love, and what we thought was real love

Days were something to endure while we waited for the night to come

That’s when the magick happened:  our hearts free to explore; an open book waiting to be written;

attractions so magnetic - highly charged and bittersweet

because somehow, we knew this couldn’t last

Life happens.

Like going to sleep and waking up in a different world

What we call maturity is somehow a gain and a loss all at once;

you can get disoriented along the way

Society telling us we should look like this, live like that, own this, pray for that

Frustration mounts, comes to a head

and we suddenly know what we must do

what matters

A plan forms in the very depths of our hearts

because there are still those among us who have stayed true to theirs

an inspiration greater than all

waiting in the wings to be wholly and completely embraced once again

by the metal hearts who have decided ~ it’s high time.

If you are living a lie, then you are wasting time because you are merely a shell

of what you should truly be

Because what really matters is what is in your heart

and to that you must stay true

Innocents though youthfully tainted yet lost
To lead a grown life and walk the line
Boldness youth set aside pays the cost
Along the way we look back in silent lament
At a boundless now left behind in time
Though we fully know still we wonder where it all went
Yes this expresses what we all in time come tome know
That life from end to end is indeed a very short show
    Yes morningafter we feel this
Good times we so sorely miss
A lovely as well as solemn write
May the Magick never be outta sight

A beautiful and wonderous trip down memory lane where funny enough I have brought a house and stay there most days
It reminds me of a saying I once read

Life changes every minute of the day.
You lose friends, you gain friends.
You realise your friend was never really your friend.
You look for love, you find love,
You lose love and you realise that all along Your’ve been loved.
You laugh, you cry, you laugh so hard you cry.
You do this you do that
You really wish you hadn’t done that.
You then learn from that, and am glad that you did.
    You have your ups,
    you have your downs
    You see good movies
    You see bad movies
You look at others and wish you were them
You then realise who they are,and glad you’re you
You hate life, you love life
In the end you just find yourself happy to be living life.
No matter whats thrown at you

You certainly touched on a great thought i have many a times
    Thanks for the trip MA7
    Awesome !!

Ah, I love it, wonderwall! Everything you said is so true. Especially that “in the end you just find yourself happy to be living life”. I’ve found that you can’t go back because everything else has changed too, not just the time. BUT at the same time, you don’t have to change as much as you think. Thanks for reading and glad it was a little trip for ya too!

Your most welcome I always enjoy a great trip
Yes in Order to know where we are going we have to know where we have been.!!!
Your right We can’t move forward if your looking back
Although it’s ok to look back if it’s only to see where it went wrong the first time, great write all the same but I don’t expect anything else from a gypsie soul. !!!!!

And on the other hand, sometimes we have to look back to remember who we truly are, especially if you’ve been feeling a little lost. ;-) It can be a way to find yourself again…

Said from a wise gypsie soul MA7
I’ve often been blamed I look back too much but it’s only so I know where I’ve been
Then again I like things in the past compared to the present!!!!
